Welcome to Rusper Primary School. We are a small village school, and we are proud of the reputation we have built for knowing and nurturing all our pupils collectively and as individuals. Collectively pupils, staff and governors enjoy and benefit from excellent relationships with parents and the wider community. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum built upon the foundations of our core values – collaboration, independence, curiosity, enthusiasm and respect. Our curriculum is driven by the collective needs of our pupils within the unique context of the Rusper community.
At Rusper our mission is to provide the highest of academic standards through high expectations of teaching and learning. As a team, our teachers embody the school values with commitment and drive to help each individual child achieve more than they think possible. Our overall teaching approach aims to remain current and prioritises the most effective methodologies informed by up to date academic research. Each subject we teach is planned sequentially across the whole school, aiming to build skills and knowledge cumulatively.

Rusper Primary also works closely with other local Primary schools on shared projects. Shared working between staff provides greater professional development and quality assurance. Inter school events enable our pupils to regularly broaden their horizons and compete in sport.

Rusper School Open Days for Prospective Parents and Carers
Thank you for taking the time to look into Rusper Primary School. We are delighted to be able to run open mornings / afternoons / evenings this year for prospective parents and look forward to showing you round our small school with a lot to offer.
Rusper Primary is a tight-knit school community where every child is known well and every staff member works hard to nurture, develop and seek the best outcomes for all. We firmly believe that positive working relationships with our children and with our parents are a central part of a successful school; and so we listen and co-produce at every opportunity. Mr Avey (our Headteacher) will show you around the school, and will be very happy to listen to your specific considerations and answer questions as part of the tour.
You will be able to see our school at work and find out more about our exciting curriculum. One which aims to develop core academic skills, knowledge of the world and important values such as kindness, friendship, respect for diversity and inclusion. We seek to develop motivated, resilient learners who are both independent and collaborative. We do this within a beautiful, historic school building set in fantastic grounds.
